A Campus
of Excellence
The Besely campus is a model of excellence that produces generations of skilled and qualified young Malagasy people.
These young people are entering the region’s job market and actively contributing to its sustainable development. The campus is gradually becoming financially self-sufficient by relying on local agroecological and economic projects, which we develop and expand day by day.
A Holistic Vision of Education
We believe in holistic education that integrates general general knowledge and the arts for all.
Students can participate in various activities such as theater, chess, robotics, choir, and English. They also learn French idioms. These activities allow them to discover their talents, express their creativity, and explore the world far beyond the walls of their classroom.
A Unique Astronomical Observatory
An astronomical observatory, equipped with a robotic telescope, was installed by the French Astronomical Society. It is supervised by researchers from Paris-Saclay University and the Malagasy Astronomy Club Haikintana.
Researchers from around the world can conduct remote observations, and our students benefit from astronomy lessons via videoconference one Saturday a month. This observatory, the first of its kind in Madagascar, offers our students a unique opportunity to discover the wonders of the universe and to realize that the world extends far beyond the borders of their village and their country.
Agroecological and Arboricultural Development
Over 29 years, we have planted more than 450,000 trees in the Sofia and Boeny regions, helping the ecosystem to regulate itself. Since our arrival at the Besely site, the reforestation efforts have brought back birds and bees. We are developing activities in vegetable farming, beekeeping, poultry farming, and arboriculture, creating jobs for villagers and contributing to the sustainable agricultural development of the Boeny region.
